Unusually for a vegan bar, this is made from all-natural ingredients. It may not be top dog in terms of protein content, but it dishes out the full spectrum of amino acids for recovery, and its marzipan-esque flavour is moreish. Combining juicy apricots, licoricey aniseed and toasted almonds, it’s the perfect balance of crunchy, chewy and sweet.
Packed with 42g of slow-release carbs, it’s a great shout if you need a big hit of energy during an endurance activity, or if you’re struggling with a mid-morning slump al desko. The fat content is also on the higher side, meaning it will keep you fuelled for longer. Just note, it’s better suited to less gut-jiggling activities such as hiking or cycling.
